International Conference on Clean Energy 2014 (ICCE 2014), Istanbul, 8.06.14 - 12.06.14

ICCE-2014 Conference - like it's very successful predecessors - will consider the clean energy related topics, including solar energy and wind energy, ocean energy and hydropower, nuclear energy and technologies, hydrogen energy and fuel cells, biomass and biofuels, waste to energy, clean coal and clean fossil fuels, carbon sequestration and carbon tax, energy storage and energy conservation, environmental impact and remediation, sustainable development and energy management, economics and education, and international cooperation and technology transfer. At the conference, recent research findings on these topics will be presented and discussed. The research endeavours of the scientists, engineers and environmentalists participating in this conference will make significant contributions to facilitate solutions to the global energy and environmental problems and help attain the clean energy future. At the beginning of the 21st Century, we are facing two major problems: One is that the fossil fuels, which meet about 80% of our energy needs today, are being depleted fast. The other is that utilization of fossil fuels are causing major environmental problems, such as the global warming, climate change, ozone layer depletion, acid rains, pollution and oil spills. We can solve these two interrelated problems by replacing the fossil fuels with clean energy. Clean energy will make it possible for the clean and renewable energy sources to power the world economy, and at the same time eliminate the environmental and health hazards caused by fossil fuels

SolarPACES is an international cooperative network bringing together teams of national experts from around the world to focus on the development and marketing of concentrating solar power systems (also known as solar thermal power systems). It is one of a number of collaborative programs, called Implementing Agreements, managed under the umbrella of the International Energy Agency to help find solutions to worldwide energy problems. Technology development is at the core of the work of SolarPACES. Member countries work together on activities aimed at solving the wide range of technical problems associated with commercialization of concentrating solar technology, including large-scale system tests and the development of advanced technologies, components, instrumentation, and systems analysis techniques. In addition to technology development, market development and building of awareness of the potential of concentrating solar technologies are key elements of the SolarPACES program. The annual SolarPACES conference provides a leading platform in the field of CSP technologies to exchange information on recent technological, market and political development. Information events

9th Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems, Venice/Istanbul, 20.09.14 - 27.09.14

The 9th Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems - SDEWES Conference, to be held at the sea between Venice and Istanbul in 2014, is dedicated to the improvement and dissemination of knowledge on methods, policies and technologies for increasing the sustainability of development by de-coupling growth from natural resources and replacing them with knowledge based economy, taking into account its economic, environmental and social pillars, as well as methods for assessing and measuring sustainability of development, regarding energy, transport, water, environment and food production systems and their many combinations. Sustainability being also a perfect field for interdisciplinary and multi-cultural evaluation of complex systems, the SDEWES Conference has at the beginning of the 21st century become a significant venue for researchers in those areas to meet, and initiate, discuss, share, and disseminate new ideas. The 9th Conference will literally connect the two sides of Mediterranean, sailing from Venice to Istanbul and back, serving as the harbinger of an idea that only economically united Mediterranean can be sustainable.
